Understanding a novel blockchain solution
In ancient Greece, an "Oracle" relayed divine advice. In blockchain, oracles supply real-world data to the distributed ledger. Due to blockchain's limitation in accessing external data, reliable oracle systems have emerged, akin to ancient Oracles. These systems play a crucial role in providing information to blockchain and smart contracts. However, verifying the accuracy of collected data remains a major challenge that require special protocols.
QED is one of those oracle protocols, the first to offer true decentralization, speed, on-chain computations, and security. Developed and launched by 0rigin, QED is able to connect multiple blockchains, off-chain data sources, and smart contracts. We we're tasked with helping QED's team to design their platform.
Designing the QED oracle platform for trust and simplicity
Our mission involved designing the product's brand, the platform's front-end, as well as data visualization components. The most challenging thing for us was to popularize a new and complex concept, without making it look superficial.
To start, we worked on making QED's UX recognizable and trustworthy, reflecting their values of being fast, secure, and decentralized. This meant designing not just the interfaces and visuals, but also the tone and message to appeal to their users.
Finally, we focused on making the platform easy to use. We made sure that navigating around QED's platform was simple and straightforward, so users could find what they needed without confusion. We also added features to help users understand the data better, making it easier for them to make informed decisions. Our goal was to make the platform both user-friendly and reliable, ensuring that QED could deliver on its promise of providing accurate and valuable information in smart contracts.
